Moving Up

There are always moving trucks going in and out of our community and I am always shocked when they can pack an entire apartment out in one day, usually a few hours, and be done! I’m assuming that we must be super pack rats since ours always takes so long.

There was one out here yesterday that was only here 4 hours. Considering the fact that it always takes us a good 8 hrs to pack out and then load.. I’m jealous!! Our last move killed me with all of the waiting around while the movers did their thing. I think next time I’ll request that they do a couple of packing days and then move on another so we’re not caught up in an entire day of boredom.

A few days ago I thought I had lost everything on my external drives. Photos, recipes, itunes - everything! I was devastated but starting to come to grips with it all when I finally managed to get the drives working again. I don’t even know how I did it. I’m not technical at all anymore. I seriously have no idea what a CAT5e is and don’t even ask me to do something as simple as hook up a VCR. But I’m glad I had enough sense to simple unplug the USB cord and then re-plug it in. Whatever was wrong with the drive was remedied by that simple action. Weird .. but GOOD.

I had the idea of making a quick, unplanned trip the Outer Banks this weekend but I sure am happy that the hubby didn’t agree this time. It looks like the weather wasn’t all that great anyway with the tropical storm looming. I believe it’s all cleared out now but even VA Beach got a little bit of the random down pours that pretty much ruined most of the weekend. I’m glad I didn’t spend the money on gas to experience the same thing elsewhere! Maybe some other weekend.

Red Skin Blues

Despite changing face wash routines, trying multiple products including Proactiv acne cream for a spell, I have not found anything to totally clear my skin up. :( I’m so bummed too. I shouldn’t be almost 28 yrs old with pimples. It’s just ridiculous!!

I’m now thinking I may try to go to a spa and get a facial of some sort. I’ll have to save up for it but maybe in the long run it will be worth it? I want my pores cleaned out and my skin to look half way decent and nothing I’m doing myself seems to be helping at all. Time to call in the big guns!

Pain!!

Word of advice … if you’re sporting sensitive skin, like I am, do not handle jalepenos without gloves!

ARRGH. So much pain!!

I decided to make the “bacon wrapped jalepeno thingies” recipe from thepioneerwomancooks.com and while they were wonderful (OH MY GOSH FABULOUS) my hands have been burning like crazy ever since. I’ve washed multiple times, even taken a nice long shower and it is still killing me. I’m assuming the damage is done and that it isn’t really a matter of having juice on my skin but an actual burn instead. They were so worth it, simple and delicious, but I have definitely learned my lesson for next time.
